Employees and family members of Mountain States Moving & Storage (1451) walked into The Gateway Mall in Salt Lake City with a purpose on Saturday, April 25. The goal was to raise awareness and funds to aid the fight against Multiple Sclerosis (MS), an unpredictable and often disabling disease of the central nervous system.

Mountain States Moving & Storage put in three miles and close to $1,500.00 for Walk MS, an event where individuals living with MS and their loved ones take a day to celebrate progress and support life-changing research. This year, the Salt Lake City community collected over $150,000 for Walk MS, which has this Atlas agency feeling particularly grateful.

Korinne Hendrikse and Rick Brimley, co-owners of Mountain States Moving & Storage, both have personal ties to Multiple Sclerosis. Korinne is battling the disease herself, while Rick is supporting his sister through her fight.

“It means so much that my Mountain States family donated money and participated in Walk MS,” said Korinne. “We hope to continue supporting the National MS Society and have more walkers join us next year.”

Rick agrees with Korinne’s admiration of their agency’s support. “We are so glad that we were able to support this cause and that it benefits programs and research that are very dear to us,” he said.

With such deep connections to the cause, the team at Mountain States Moving & Storage made sure the whole family was able to participate in Walk MS.

“There were a lot of four legged friends this year dressed to match their team. Our team alone had seven dogs walking with us,” added Sarah Dixon, Customer Service Representative at Mountain States.

It was estimated that 3,000 people participated in Salt Lake City’s Walk MS. If you’re interested in learning more about this organization, please visit walkms.org.
