Team Alexander's at Make a Wish event
Three Alexander’s Mobility Services locations participated in Make-A-Wish Foundation’s annual Walk for Wishes, a series of regional two-mile walks that raise money to grant wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions. The Tustin (207), Portland (0210), and Dallas (0218) locations donated funds, time, equipment, and a whole lot of steps.

Alexander’s California and Oregon teams raised a combined $13,700 for the cause.  Both were among the top teams who raised the most money, plus Mike Shaughnessy, who works for Alexander’s, was the top individual fundraiser for Walk for Wishes Orange County. His efforts went back in to helping his Tustin team.

“It was a beautiful morning and such a nice walk. It was very humbling as they introduced the wish kids. Just hearing how long some of those children have been living with their illnesses made me feel very thankful,” said Vicki Eggleston, who participated with Walk for Wishes in Portland.

“Alexander’s 207 had a year full of cupcake sales, bingo events, and auctions to raise monies for Make-A-Wish and Walk for Wishes. With hard work and a corporate donation, we contributed $10,629 to this worthy cause,” said Karen Johnson, who was part of the Walk for Wishes Orange County team.

The North Texas office provided labor and equipment for their local Walk for Wishes, showing up to the event at 5:30 am to assist the Make-A-Wish committee’s logistics operations.

Alexander’s Mobility Services frequently supports Make-A-Wish throughout the year with various fundraisers and events. To see more of their efforts, follow them on Facebook.
