Atlantic Backs the Badge

A few short weeks before his scheduled family move, a Houston Law Enforcement officer went into surgery for a broken leg he suffered in the line of duty. Monica Lozano, the Care Team Coordinator for nonprofit Houston Law Enforcement Officer’s Family Support Unit, reached out to a trustworthy team of movers at Atlantic Relocation Systems (1021) for support.

Neil Vansant, Vice President and General Manager of Atlantic Relocation Systems (1021), proposed the idea to his management team shortly after hearing the officer’s news from Monica. The consensus was unanimous: Atlantic would “back the badge” and sponsor the move.

“Neil decided it would be an awesome way to give back to our community,” Lance Grooms, Corporate Vice President of Atlantic Relocation Systems (1037), said. “We scheduled the move, reacted to multiple changes, and sent an experienced crew and van operator to handle their local move.”

A diverse group of Atlantic crew members and Houston LEO Family Support Unit volunteers stepped in to make the move possible. At Atlantic, John Carey coordinated communication with the family, Dana Parker provided flexibility and prompt problem resolution in dispatch, and Carlos Franco and Basilio Barron successfully executed the physical move.

“The entire staff was honored to help such a worthy cause and we were happy that we could make a small difference in the officer’s unfortunate situation,” Lance said.

Supporting local charity initiatives is no new effort for the Atlantic Relocation Systems team. As an active agent in the Move For Hunger program, Atlantic gives a little bit back to the communities they touch with every move.
