Where do I begin?
Before you move, you’ll need to know where you are moving to, when you would like to move, and have a good idea of the things you want to move. Does Atlas move long distance? What about locally?
Yes, Atlas provides long distance and interstate moves throughout the U.S., across the Canadian border, and internationally. Your local Atlas Agent can also help you with local moves within your community, county, or state.

Are there things Atlas won't move?
By law, Atlas is prohibited from moving certain things such as many household cleaning chemicals, fireworks and guns.

Can Atlas help me pack? Or may I do my own packing if Atlas moves me?
Yes, your Atlas Agent provides professional packing services to lift the stress when you go new places. Our packers are trained to work efficiently and use best practices ensure your goods are ready to travel safely. If you prefer, you can do your own packing—or ask your Atlas Agent to pack particular items for you.

Who provides packing materials?
Atlas uses professional grade packing materials to prepare your items for transport. We also provide these materials to you at competitive prices if you prefer to do your own packing.

Will Atlas move my pet?
We want to make sure every member of your family experiences a good move. While Atlas is not authorized to transport live animals, your Atlas Agent can recommend providers who specialize in this service.

What is the best way to move my house plants?
The answer depends on several factors, such as the kinds of plants, distance they will travel, and time of year/weather conditions.

Do I need moving insurance to cover my move?
Atlas takes great care to prevent loss or damage to your goods. However, in the event something unforeseen should happen, we recommend Full Value Protection. Technically, it’s not insurance—but it provides coverage to repair or replace anything that may be lost, damaged, or destroyed while in our care.

What payment methods does Atlas accept?
Your Atlas Agent will collect payment before unloading at destination, or you may opt to pay at the time your goods are loaded onto the truck. You may pay with cash, credit card, or check (certified check, traveler’s check, bank check, or personal check is accepted with certain limitations).

How does Atlas calculate the price for my move?
Atlas determines the cost of your move based on the weight and distance it will travel. Our online instant quote provides an approximate price. For a precise estimate, your Atlas Agent will walk through your home and note everything to be transported.

Why should I use a professional moving company?

How long does it take to move?
The time it takes to move depends on several factors, such as the size of your move, where you are moving to, and time of year. Talk to your Atlas Agent about your timing requirements. We want to meet your expectations.
Does Atlas move cars?
Yes, Atlas routinely moves cars, trucks, campers, motorcycles, and other large or special items.

What if I need storage for some things?
Storage goes hand-in-hand with moving. Atlas offers secure storage, for as long as you may need, in Atlas warehouses from coast to coast.

Am I protected against loss or damage while my belongings are in transit?
All shipments are automatically afforded a minimal protection, valued at 60 cents per pound. However, Atlas recommends Full Value Protection (FVP), which ensures repair or replacement in the event an item is lost or damaged.

What should I do with my high value items?
Atlas recommends you take small, high-value items and things with personal or sentimental value with yourself when you move.

How can I track my shipment?
As a customer of Atlas, you have access to our online tracking system. Simply enter your shipment number to see an update on your shipment at any time.
