ATLAS® WORLD GROUP ANNOUNCES TWO NEW APPOINTMENTS TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

EVANSVILLE (October 14, 2019)-  Atlas World Group, Inc., which is comprised of a portfolio of companies that delivers transportation and related services globally through a network of agents and select service partners, has announced recent appointments to its 14-member Board of Directors. Chris Niesner and Bill Paxton were elected by the Atlas® World Group stockholders at its September annual meeting. .
 
“Our new board members offer unrivaled experience in the moving, storage and logistics arena and will be integral in shaping our company’s future,” said Jack Griffin, chairman and CEO of Atlas World Group. “With their passion and leadership, they will play an essential role in the effective implementation of our comprehensive strategic plan, known as Vision 2025.”
 
Paxton, COO of The Paxton Companies, a fourth-generation family-owned business providing superior relocation, information and logistics management services worldwide, began his career in the moving and storage industry over thirty years ago. As the Paxton Companies continue to grow and expand as a global service provider, so does his commitment to maintaining the highest industry standards. His dedication to this mission is exemplified through his involvement in community and industry organizations.
 
In addition to previously serving as an Auxiliary Board Member for Atlas, Paxton has been a member of the Board of Directors for AMSA and SALTA Group Captive for the past ten years. As a founding member of the Atlas Van Lines Best Practices Council, he demonstrates a strong commitment to the sharing of information to improve the network of agents. Paxton has also served on the FIDI USA Board of Directors since 2017, where he works with a cross-section of global mobility specialists from around the world.
 
Niesner is president and CEO of Specialty Moving Systems, one of the largest revenue-producing agents of Atlas World Group. The 37-year-old company provides customized and powerful supply chain solutions for products that require special handling for its clients. Niesner brings over three decades of experience in logistics and a passion for helping Atlas continue its dedication to making sustainability a priority. With the environmental influence of moving families and businesses around the globe, Niesner understands the impact of holding the company and agents accountable.
 
Niesner rejoins the Atlas Board of Directors after having served from 2011-2017. He has also previously served as an Auxiliary Board Member.
