Atlas® Van Lines Promotes Jeff Schimmel to Senior Vice President of Operations
EVANSVILLE, IND. (February 7, 2023) — Atlas® Van Lines, one of the nation’s leading moving companies, is excited to announce the promotion of Jeff Schimmel to Senior Vice President of Operations for Atlas Van Lines.
In addition to his nearly 40 years of experience working within Atlas® and the household goods transportation industry, Schimmel has also been at the helm of the organization’s most prestigious honors, including the Milton M. Hill and Atlas World-Class Commitment Quality Awards.
“Jeff’s experience supporting our Agent network and professional van operators has been invaluable to the success of our company,” said Ryan McConnell, President and COO of Atlas Van Lines. “His practical and professional approach to problem solving continues to drive positive results throughout Atlas.”
Over the past three years, Schimmel has worked diligently to optimize internal processes through team building and strategic focus. He has overseen the implementation of a new Safety and Compliance team along with a multi-faceted plan to further improve Atlas’ overall safety initiative, providing additional protection and training for Atlas van operators. Additionally, Schimmel recently lent his expertise to a project that will guide the footprint of the Atlas network, allowing the organization to better serve Agents and customers. Schimmel also played an instrumental role in building Atlas’ relationship with Truckers Against Trafficking, helping communicate the nonprofit’s message across the Atlas network so both organizations could work toward a mutual goal of combatting human trafficking.
In his new role, Schimmel will concentrate on capacity growth through traditional and containerization services and continue to position Atlas as a world-class company through quality operational service.
