YOU’RE CHOOSING YOUR OWN MOVER

If you’re in charge of your own relocation, you likely need a mover. We recommend you get estimates from reputable moving companies. If your move is considered "small"—an apartment, condo, townhouse or 1-2 bedroom home—you should take a look at SimpliCity™. The unique program from Atlas is designed specifically for small, long-distance moves, including date-specific pickup and delivery. There's more control for you.
 

BEGIN HERE TO FIND A REPUTABLE MOVER

You should begin your quest with pricing to know how a professional move fits with your budget. Atlas makes it easy for you with an instant online quote. This is a ball-park price based on the distance your shipment must travel and its approximate weight.

To give you a firm price, a mover will need to walk through your home while you point out everything to be moved. You can also take a video survey of your home where available. This is called the in-home survey (or in-home estimate). It gives you a chance to talk with the company’s representative and get answers to your questions.

Atlas provides this in-home service in order to give you a fair and accurate price. If a mover offers you a firm price without walking through your home, take them off your list. There is an exception—with a streaming video application for your smart device, you can walk through the home in lieu of your mover.

NO STRANGER IN YOUR HOME® – BACKGROUND CHECKS

Ask your mover about who will be working in your home. For your security, Atlas performs background checks on every employee who enters your home. You can have confidence the people serving you are trustworthy.

REQUEST REFERENCES

Before you hire a mover, ask for names of three customers who have moved in the last 60 days. Then, get in touch with those customers and ask if they would use the services of that mover again. You can also check with your local chamber of commerce and Better Business Bureau for reports and ratings on local movers.
