Did you know that Atlas has a mascot in the family? No, he doesn’t wear the flying blue stripes. Instead, he dons scarlet and gray. That’s because Matthew Stierhoff, son of Mike Stierhoff, President at Superior Mobility Services (1902), spent three years as Brutus Buckeye, the famed mascot of Ohio State University.

Matt, who has proudly worked for Atlas agent Superior Mobility Services, learned how to balance the unique challenges that come with being a student and a celebrity. This included being the face of the school for 36 varsity sports, traveling to away games, and approximately 500 non-sporting event appearances a year. However, this was a team effort and Matt’s whole family was along for the ride.

“Luckily when Matt was traveling to different games, my wife and I were able to attend. We saw him perform at the 2015 Sugar Bowl and National Championship football game,” said Mike. “It was a great experience for all of us. We were able to work along the way, hauling loads to and from places like Texas or Florida where he was performing.” The Stierhoffs were able to watch Brutus become the 2015 mascot national champion in Orlando this year.

Matt was once the winner of scholarship funds from Atlas, plus a moving and storage industry association in Ohio, which helped him continue his college education as a scholar athlete.
