Atlas World Group Expanding Evansville Headquarters

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (March 11, 2019) – Atlas World Group Inc., which is composed of a portfolio of companies that delivers transportation and related services globally through a network of agents and select service partners, announced plans today to expand its Vanderburgh County headquarters. The company will move its international relocation services to Evansville from Seattle while separately forming a new leasing company, AWG Equipment Leasing Inc. to offer competitive financing to its agents and owner-operators. With this growth, the company plans to add up to 75 new jobs in Indiana by the end of 2023.

"To take our economy to the next level, we need to keep attracting companies like Atlas World Group to locate and grow in Indiana," said Governor Eric J. Holcomb. "We are grateful for their commitment and we'll continue to do our part to build on this momentum by sustaining our pro-business climate and show businesses large and small why Indiana is the best state to live, work, grow, play and stay."

The privately-owned business will invest more than $1.1 million in relocation, software and equipment purchases for its 65,000-square-foot headquarters facility at 1212 St. George Rd. in Evansville. The company, which has been headquartered in southwest Indiana since 1960, anticipates its consolidation and expansion to be complete by 2023.

While the growth of its Evansville team will take place over the next five years, Atlas World Group, which currently employs 389 Evansville associates, is looking to immediately hire positions in administrative support and professional services. Interested applicants may apply online.

“We have been in the Evansville community creating jobs for nearly 60 years, and we’re excited about this new chapter for Atlas,” said Jack Griffin, chairman and CEO of Atlas World Group. “Our primary goal is to make it easier for people to relocate, and we know this expansion will be extremely beneficial in that effort.”

Atlas World Group operates nine subsidiaries and more than 430 agencies across North America. Additionally, the organization has authorized partners in 140 countries around the globe. The company has expertise in global relocation, moving, transportation and logistics, and attributes its recent growth to continuous emphasis on service excellence and a commitment to helping people go new places® more easily and more securely. Atlas World Group anticipates its Evansville location will allow for continued, accelerated growth and the ability to provide world-class moving and logistics services.

“The city of Evansville is proud to be the international headquarters for Atlas World Group and is grateful for the company’s decision to continue investing in our community by expanding in Southwest Indiana,” Mayor Lloyd Winnecke said. “Atlas considered several locations before deciding that Evansville offers the best option for sustained growth. We look forward to partnering with the company to recruit high-quality talent, which will continue to strengthen our community and promote positive progress.”

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Atlas World Group up to $800,000 in conditional tax credits based on the company's job creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. The city of Evansville will consider additional incentives at the request of the Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville.
