Powell Relocation Group (1657) began in 1962 when Bill Powell converted his 7UP® delivery truck into Bill’s Delivery Service. What started as a small company in Grand Rapids, Michigan, now services major metropolitan areas.

Since its inception over 60 years ago, the second-generation family business has grown to include four different locations, with its newest facility opening earlier this year.

Located just west of Houston, Powell broke ground for its brand-new building in March 2021 in Katy, Texas. Less than a year later, in January 2022, the doors opened, and they now service 46 cities in the surrounding area and state. Several of their corporate clients have a heavy volume of moves to and from Texas as well as the Southwest region of the U.S. This facility allows Powell Relocation Group and Walker Transfer-Powell, LLC to provide a single source of responsibility from beginning to end and the ability to control quality for all relocating families.

This state-of-the-art facility sits on 4.5 acres and includes 25,000 square feet of storage space, sizable parking, and luxurious Professional Van Operator (PVO) accommodations. The PVO amenities specifically include a deluxe drivers lounge with a 65-inch TV, leather sofa with recliner and love seat, full kitchen, shower area,
and laundry accommodations.

There is also an outside seating area with a BBQ grill and pit to be enjoyed on those warm Texas days. “We have seen significant growth in business in Houston and in
the South as we’ve scaled and expanded over the years,” said Chris Wing, Chief Executive Officer of Powell Relocation Group. “The steadfast market played a key role in our decision to locate here, and we are very excited about the opportunities this expansion will present for our company and this region.”
