Market changes can affect every industry, which is why continued growth and longevity are not easy to come by nowadays. However, there are a few companies that have stood the test of time and deserve our recognition. A good example is Paxton Companies.
They started as a small business moving lawmakers and their families to Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., and became the international moving and logistics company they are today. Seventy-five years and four generations after the first donkey and wagon started moving people and their belongings, the Paxton family is still at the helm trailblazing new avenues for the moving industry.
Many things can change in seven and a half decades and Paxton has seen it all. From the rise of the containerized cargo in the ’50s to the recent pandemic and its challenges, the company has shown time and time again that hard work, dedication, and resilience are key factors in this industry. Looking back at all the miles transported over the years, the total amount of pounds shipped, the new relocation initiatives, and the carbon offset efforts, it’s hard to believe they were all done in just 75 years.
And in good Atlas® family spirit, Paxton credits its customers and partners for their success. “2022 marked some major milestones for The Paxton Companies. We were excited to celebrate our 75th year as The Paxton Companies right alongside our 50th year as part of the Atlas Family. We want to thank all those who have undoubtedly contributed to our success over the last half-century, especially the Atlas Family, as we look forward to what the future has in store for not only The Paxton Companies, but Atlas and the industry as a whole. Cheers to the next 50 years!” said Bill Paxton, COO, The Paxton Companies (1610).
But this year marks another important anniversary, for which we are all proud here at Atlas: Our partnership with Paxton turns 50! Happy 75th anniversary, Paxton Companies. Thank you for helping us go new places®!
