Tucker History

Tucker traces its modern history to the 1800s and a Scotsman named Greenville Henderson. He settled in the area on 3,000 acres and built a successful agricultural enterprise and lively trade with Savannah. The community’s early development owes largely to Greenville’s industry. It eventually took the name “Tucker” after Captain Tucker, an officer with a railroad company that surveyed the area.
