Atlas Partners with National Non-Profit to Fight Hunger and Reduce Food Waste
Atlas Van Lines and Move For Hunger Announce Collaborative Effort to Help Feed Families in Need Nationwide.
EVANSVILLE, IND. (February 3, 2017) – Atlas Van Lines, the flagship of Atlas World Group and the second-largest carrier of household goods in the United States, has renewed its commitment to Move For Hunger, a national non-profit organization that mobilizes the relocation industry to fight hunger and reduce food waste. As proud partners of Move For Hunger, Atlas Van Lines partner agents collect non-perishable food from people who are moving and deliver it to local food banks. In 2016 alone, Atlas Van Lines agents collected more than 344,000 pounds of food – enough to provide 236,000 meals to Americans struggling with food insecurity. Since teaming up with Move For Hunger in 2013, Atlas movers have delivered over 1 million pounds of food to food banks/pantries throughout the United States – providing more than 850,000 meals to their neighbors in need.
