“We handed out custom designed t-shirts to all the PVO's that were in town Thursday morning, and encouraged everyone to be involved in a group photo to show their support for all the PVO's," said Mike McHugh, General Manager at Ace Relocation Systems, Inc. (0043).

Atlas Professional Van Operators (PVO's) are what make the moving business go round. They put on the Atlas uniform and drive hundreds and thousands of miles to load and unload every day. Atlas PVO's are more than just drivers, they are marketing, public relations, accounting, transportation and labor all rolled into one.

The last full week of September (26-30), Atlas and its network of agencies celebrated BRAVO (Boosting Recognition of Atlas Van Operators) Week, an appreciation event for all the PVO's hard work and dedication throughout the year. During BRAVO Week, our King of the Road Survey Results were released and voting for our Annual Best of the Best Contest took place. With 37 nominees and over 8,500 votes cast, this was the biggest contest to date! Our 2016 Atlas Best of the Best Winner was Jason Clark with Ace Moving & Storage (1407) and our runner-up was Bryan Emblem with Alexander's Mobility Services (0218).

Below, Atlas agents share how they celebrated BRAVO Week 2016 amongst their teams:

"At Atlas, BRAVO Week was originally ROAD Day. And at Ace, we have kept the ROAD Day tradition alive by having our branch offices do a cookout on the same day each BRAVO Week," said Dan Lammers, Senior VP of Operations at Ace Relocation Systems (0001). "We still call it ROAD Day. This year we thought it would be fun to make it a retro day along with #TBT (Throw Back Thursday), a popular trend on social media amongst our PVO's. We have a cool history and we wanted to celebrate it. The ROAD Day t-shirt is part of an ongoing theme to make a singe addition "uniform" shirt for participants. The quotes "We Never Have any Fun," goes on limited addition t-shirts. But we do, have fun," Lammers added.

"At Imlach Group, a little appreciation goes a long way with not only our PVOs, but our crews as well. We try and make sure to do something small each day during BRAVO Week so that there is more opportunity to join in," said Gregg Imlach, CEO of Imlach Group (1132). "At the end of the week we have a big picnic with giveaways, food and games for drivers, labor, office personnel and all their families. It gives everyone a chance to relax and get to know each other on a personal level. This helps bring comradery and teamwork to each job they go on."

"Merchants Moving and Storage's BRAVO celebration was a family-friendly BBQ for all of our PVO's, the entire Merchants team and their families! We provided a BBQ dinner, a jump house and games for the kids," said Ron Grove, President of Merchants Moving & Storage, Inc.(1401). "It's a great way to celebrate everyone's hard work and success from the past moving season."

Next year, BRAVO will take place the first week of October 2017. But please, remember to thank PVO's every day for delivering our promises.
