Alexander's Celebrates a Big Year in Nashville

In 2015, Alexander’s Mobility Services (0217) celebrated 20 years of service in the Nashville area, and they did it in a big way. As the largest multi-location agent in the Atlas family, Alexander’s moved their Tennessee operations into a new location on the northwest side of the city.

The grand opening and anniversary celebration was held at their new facility on May 28th. The evening featured live music, local barbeque, ribbon cutting ceremonies and support from the community.

“We are very excited about celebrating two decades in Nashville and to move into our new facility. Nashville is a special place for Alexander’s,” commented Donnie Hill, President of Alexander’s Mobility Services. “It was the last office we opened before my father passed away and he was so proud of this facility. This location was launched as a brand-new startup to support the needs of a national client, but it has blossomed to serve many of Nashville’s growing businesses.”

In conjunction with the event, Alexander’s Mobility Services saw their celebration as an opportunity to raise awareness and donate to local charitable organizations. A donation of 150 pounds of food was given to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee as part of Move For Hunger, an organization who works with Atlas and its agents to fight hunger through household goods moving.

“Alexander’s Mobility Services has been an amazing partner in our fight against hunger. Their support has helped increase awareness about local hunger issues and they provide their customers with a simple opportunity to take action,” said Adam Lowy, Founder and Executive Director of Move For Hunger.

Alexander’s also announced their plans to auction a piece of work by local Nashville artist Trevor Mikula, who is conducting the sale through his website. Alexander’s will match the sale price of the painting and donate the funds to help a child through the Nashville Make-A-Wish program.

Alexander’s became an Atlas agent in 1982, starting with only two locations in California. Since then, they’ve opened seven offices around the United States and are consistent winners of the van lines’ prestigious Milton M. Hill Quality Award.

“It is very advantageous for Atlas to have Alexander’s Mobility Services as a part of our network,” said Glen Dunkerson, Chairman and CEO of Atlas World Group. “This group is among the industry’s finest service providers and I am happy to see their success in Nashville, as well the overall prosperity of their company.”
