EVANSVILLE, IND. (Dec. 1, 2020) - Leading moving company Atlas Van Lines, Inc. is proud to announce important updates to its successful containerized moving program, SimpliCity™, powered by Atlas®. The containerized moving program, introduced in 2018, was designed to simplify small moves while delivering the trusted service for which the company is known. With this program, households moving less than 6,000 pounds of goods across state lines can move with the help of Atlas professionals in days, not weeks, allowing for better planning and less downtime.
Millions of Americans relocated this year because of COVID-19, moving out of college dorms that abruptly closed, communities they perceived as less safe, or housing that no longer suited their lifestyle. Overall, around one-in-five U.S. adults (22%) say they either changed their residence due to the pandemic or know someone who did, according to a new Pew Research Center survey.
To address today’s moving needs and those that might arise post-pandemic, Atlas Van Lines worked to improve and grow its SimpliCity offerings, introducing new value-add features focusing on safety, storage, protection and adaptability.
Virtual Estimate
SimpliCity provides enhanced technology like integrated shipment registration and a virtual estimating tool. The mobile technology instantly connects customers with a mover to receive an accurate estimate on moving services virtually, with no onsite visit required.
Corporate Bundled Storage Options
SimpliCity simplifies long-distance moves for corporate clients as they receive trusted professionalism with fully background-checked packers and movers. Corporate clients now have the option between five days’ use of the container or 30 days bundled safekeeping of household goods. Items stay packed in their original moving cartons and are placed in secure containers at an Atlas warehouse.
Multiple Container Choices
Atlas offers a variety of container options through SimpliCity, including corrugated, wood, and environmentally friendly vault selections. Atlas agents can work with customers and clients to determine the right container for their specific move.
Affinity Vaults
Atlas has introduced Affinity Vaults for small shipments, which are specially engineered moving containers used to easily transport and store small shipments. Atlas also offers extended deliveries with flexible scheduling to store "Exclusive-Use" Affinity Vault containers in climate-controlled warehouses until a home is move-in ready.
Atlas Protects
Atlas follows strict security measures to ensure customer data and personal information is protected from inappropriate or unauthorized access. These measures, coupled with Atlas’s No stranger in your home® guarantee, keep safety and security the utmost priority for customers, belongings and personal information.
“Smaller moves continue to trend even during the pandemic, and we remain committed to constant development as we continue to evolve our SimpliCity containerized moving program,” said Barry Schellenberg, president and COO of Atlas Van Lines. “We are proud of the advancements we have made and look forward to providing additional value to the individuals that entrust Atlas to play a meaningful role in their relocation plans.”
