At the 67th Annual Atlas Convention in November, Imlach & Collins Brothers (1132) was recognized as the recipient of Move for Hunger’s 2014 Atlas Van Lines Mover of the Year award. It was a well deserved honor for the agency, as the award recognizes the highest amount of participation and donations for ongoing efforts to prevent hunger. To date, Imlach & Collins Brothers has accumulated more than 121,948 pounds of non-perishable food for their local food banks in Dallas.

“Our staff is always looking to give back to the community, and Imlach & Collins Brothers is honored to participate in Move for Hunger’s nationwide effort to fight hunger,” said Ian Imlach, Sales Representative at Imlach & Collins Brothers. “This year alone, we were able to supply 73,238 meals for those individuals in need of assistance, giving us a number we will strive to exceed in years to come.”

Since 2013, Imlach & Collins Brothers has been heavily involved in North Texas Food Bank's Food 4 Kids program. Operating in 330 elementary schools throughout North Texas, Food 4 Kids reaches 11,000 students weekly who are at risk of being food insecure. When the food bank reached out for help due to budget cuts, Imlach & Collins Brothers did not hesitate to extend a helping hand. As a result of their unwavering commitment and assistance to the program, students have access to enough food to sustain their families throughout a weekend. In addition, Imlach & Collins Brothers also participated in the Dallas Area Public Library Food Drive which included 25 participating area branches and six Move for Hunger movers in March of 2014.

“In the few years Imlach & Collins Brothers of Dallas have been participating, their efforts have proven to be invaluable in the fight against hunger,” said Adam Lowy, Executive Director at Move for Hunger. “Their commitment to the community has earned enough food to feed more than 101,623 individuals in need. This is a clear illustration of the impact our movers make on a year-round basis.”

Imlach & Collins Brothers is among the near 100 Atlas agencies that help create one of the nation’s largest, year-round service programs with Move For Hunger. Atlas continuously seeks new, creative ways to give even more to Move For Hunger – whether through events or partnerships with organizations and businesses.

“Our agency network never ceases to amaze me, especially when it comes to helping others in need,” said Jack Griffin, President and COO of Atlas World Group. “We applaud Imlach & Collins Brothers for their efforts and greatly appreciate their dedication and support of our Move For Hunger partnership, and helping feed Americans.”

In 2014, Atlas agents donated 204,256 pounds of non-perishable goods to their local food banks. Since the partnership’s inception with Move for Hunger, the van line has collected 399,718 pounds of food, which fed more than 298,280 people across the country.
