EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Industry veteran Robert Clark will succeed Doug Auld as president of Atlas Van Lines (Canada) Ltd. when Auld retires Dec. 31, vacating a position he's held for 17 years. Clark has served the transportation and household goods industry for 28 years, including the past 14 years with Atlas Canada. Currently, he is vice president of business and agency development for the company.

During Auld's tenure, the Oakville, Ontario-based company rose from the fifth-largest household goods carrier in Canada to the largest, due in part to his ability to generate agent loyalty and trust. He implemented strategic planning sessions with agents that helped create a unified sense of vision, mission, strategies and action plans.

Clark, who was selected from a number of qualified candidates, hopes to use his experience to build on Auld's legacy. Clark has served the industry in various capacities — from van operator to marketing director to agency owner. The Toronto native has found success by continually diversifying his businesses and implementing collaborative marketing campaigns.

"Bob's ingenuity and industry know-how have helped him climb the ranks within Atlas, and we're confident that the company is in very good hands with him at the helm," said Jim Stamm, Atlas World Group CEO and vice chairman. "We are certain that Bob will carry on the tradition of serving Canada and its 152 agencies and help the company continue to evolve and grow."

Clark is a founding member of the Canadian Employee Relocation Council, a former director of Child Find Canada, current chairman of the Ontario Club and an active member of the Human Resources Professional Association of Ontario.
