Atlas World Group announces educational scholarships

Three $4,000 scholarships awarded to students in the Atlas family

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Three students in the Atlas World Group family will each receive a $4,000 scholarship from the Evansville, Ind-based company. This is the third year that Atlas has offered the scholarships.

Joel Coker, Thomas Lee Cravens and Victoria Petzold are the three winners. Candidates for the scholarships are required to have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, and must be full-time students entering their junior or senior year at an accredited college or university.

"Atlas is extremely proud of these three individuals, and we'd like to extend our congratulations to them and their families," said Jim Stamm, Vice Chairman and CEO of Atlas World Group. "The scholarships went to three outstanding students, and we're happy to support their educational goals."

Joel Coker, the son of Rick Coker, received the Professional Van Operator Scholarship, which is awarded to the child of an Atlas-qualified van operator. He is a junior studying civil engineering at the University of Florida.

Thomas Lee Cravens, the son of Julia Johnson, a mail clerk, received the Chairman's Scholarship, which is awarded to the child of a full-time employee at any Atlas World Group location in the United States or Canada. He is a junior studying music education at Indiana University.

Victoria Petzold, a senior marketing major at Eastern Kentucky University, received the President's Scholarship, which is awarded to the child of a full-time employee at Atlas' Evansville, Ind., headquarters. She is the daughter of Irv Petzold, a senior financial analyst in Atlas' financial department.
