EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Atlas World Group Inc. is collaborating with Denver-based Smart Move Inc. to design a model that quickly transports household goods for employees who relocate. Atlas' new program is called Accel™.
Providing affordable temporary housing for relocating employees has been a longstanding burden for human resources departments, not to mention the "in limbo" employees.
"A lack of expedited shipping options has been an issue in the corporate and specialized relocation industries for a long time," said Greg Hoover, Atlas World Group's senior vice president and chief marketing officer. "Accel is a revolutionary concept in our business, and we've found a great partner in Smart Move to make it happen." The collaboration will allow Atlas to deliver on its commitment to high-quality customer service that's also cost-effective, Hoover says.
Accel enables Atlas to move small household goods shipments rapidly, efficiently and predictably anywhere in the country. This helps employees settle in more quickly and become productive sooner. A key component: Accel's state-of-the-art vault system — SmartVault® — which was created to transport goods safely and track their whereabouts. The sturdy 270-cubic-foot vaults are made of tough, molded polymer. For added security, each vault is lockable and equipped with GPS tracking, so its precise location is known at all times.
Here's how Accel works. Smart Move provides logistics management services using propriety software and GPS tracking and mapping technology. This enables Atlas to provide shortened transit times between 41 major metro areas in the United States. Accel customers have access to Atlas' same customer-focused relocation services such as packing and unpacking in an expedited shipping environment. It's a win for the transferees and a win for their employers.
