Titan specializes in transportation, warehousing and equipment and fixture installation. The company resulted from the acquisition of the assets of Bekins Distribution Services Co., by an Atlas World Group subsidiary in February 2004. Revenues for the business have increased by more than 50 percent since that time. Atlas World Group also owns Atlas Van Lines, Inc., the nation's second-largest van line.
The name Titan Global Distribution was selected to better reflect BDS Worldwide's strengths in specialized transportation and to put the company in a better position to grow market share in its target industries.
"As part of Atlas, we have the resources, support and access to the Atlas network, all of which really makes us a giant in the industry," said Dan Kelly, Titan's president. "With Titan, you get a combination of customer focus, unprecedented client access to information through our online tracking system and the ability to do a range of jobs — from small and intricate to huge distribution and installation projects. Our new identity better reflects what customers receive when they choose Titan."
"The first goal was for Atlas to help BDS Worldwide gain Bekins Distribution's foothold in the industry, and both companies passed that test with flying colors," said Greg Hoover, Atlas World Group's senior vice president and chief marketing officer. "The brand alignment with Atlas is really the final step in positioning Titan to live up to its potential as an industry powerhouse."
