Atlas Van Lines announces four new directors

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Atlas Van Lines has hired four directors at its Evansville headquarters: Alan Apfelstadt, director of accounts receivable and treasury; Norm Carlson, director of continuous improvement; Jim DePillo, senior director of logistics services and Julian (J.J.) Mohr, director of IT development.

Apfelstadt has more than 25 years of experience in the manufacturing accounting industry and is a Certified Public Accountant. A native of Evansville, Apfelstadt has a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Southern Indiana and was a controller at Leed Selling Tools Inc. for 10 years.

Carlson brings experience managing quality systems to Atlas. He is a Six Sigma Black Belt, Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor, Registered Lead Assessor and Certified Trainer. A native of South Bend, Ind., Carlson graduated from Ball State University with a bachelor's degree in communications.

DePillo is a Six Sigma Green Belt with 20 years of experience in the logistics industry. The DuBois, Pa., native has a bachelor's degree in marketing and a master's degree in logistics from Penn State University, and is an American Society of Quality Certified Quality Manager. DePillo will be responsible for enhancing the services of the logistics division.

Mohr has 25 years of experience in the information technology industry and holds an associate's degree of applied science in electronic engineering technology from ITT Technical Institute and a bachelor's degree in occupational studies from the University of Southern Indiana. Mohr, a native of Pinckneyville, Ill., will assist with implementing strategic IT initiatives. A member of the Health Informational Management System Society, Mohr spent 23 years leading various technological advances at Deaconness Hospital.
