EVANSVILLE, Ind. — For three consecutive months—February through April—Atlas Van Lines has earned Gap Inc.'s Service Excellence Award for transportation providers.

Gap introduced the new awards program in February 2006 as a way to recognize excellence among transportation providers for on-time delivery. Each month, carriers may qualify to receive a bronze, silver or gold medallion based on performance. The gold medallions Atlas received are the highest level of recognition and are reserved for carriers whose on-time delivery rating is at least 99 percent (Atlas scored 100 percent each month).

"This award represents a group effort among Atlas Van Lines' operations and logistics personnel, and the Atlas agency family," said Phil Wahl, director of operations for the Commercial Truckload Division and a member of the Atlas national account service team that makes sure the retailer receives consistent, quality service. "We strive to serve every client with our team's best, and it's gratifying to be recognized for our work."
