EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Long time Atlas Van Lines assistant vice president and controller Ben Sloan is retiring after more than 40 years of service to the company. Sloan joined Atlas in 1961, left to serve in the United States Army, and returned to the company in 1964. During his tenure at Atlas, Sloan was manager of revenue distribution and controller, assuming the responsibilities of assistant vice president in April of 1990.

"Ben has been a great contributor in the accounting area during his 44-year career at Atlas," said Rick Olson, Atlas senior vice president and chief financial officer. "We are very proud of all that he has accomplished and we wish him a very rich and rewarding retirement."

Sloan is married with two daughters and a son. He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Evansville in 1972. He is a member of the Purple Aces Club and the Southern Indiana Civil War Roundtable.
