Atlas' legal counsel promoted to senior vice president

Marian Weilert Sauvey

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Atlas World Group chairman and CEO Mike Shaffer promoted Atlas executive Marian Weilert Sauvey from vice president to senior vice president, spreading her experience in the transportation industry further across the eight-company group. Sauvey has been with Atlas since 1993, and was named general counsel in 1997. She also serves as general counsel and secretary for Atlas World Group and Atlas Van Lines.

Sauvey is a member of the Trucking Industry Defense Association, Transportation Lawyers Association, the Conference of Freight Counsel, the Canadian Transport Lawyers Association and the American Moving and Storage Association Legal Advisory Council, of which she is currently serving as chairman.

Sauvey graduated summa cum laude from Rockhurst College in Kansas City with a B.A., and with highest distinction from the University of Missouri, Kansas City School of Law in 1978.
