EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Atlas World Group has named transportation industry veteran and long-time employee James A. Stamm its president and chief operating officer. Previously, Stamm held those titles for Atlas Van Lines. Atlas World Group is the holding company for Atlas Van Lines and other companies.
A native of Fort Wayne and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Stamm has an extensive background in the transportation of high-value and commercial goods. He joined the company in 1987 as president of Atlas Van Lines' Specialized Transportation Group, assuming the president and COO title in 1999.
In his new role, Stamm has assumed management and strategic duties similar to those he performed for Atlas Van Lines, but on a broader scale for all Atlas World Group companies, which include Atlas Canada, Atlas International, American VanPac, RBI, Cornerstone Relocation Group, Avail Resource Management, BDS Worldwide, Atlas World Class Travel and Atlas Terminal Company.
Stamm's industry experience includes lead positions with two other nationally based carriers where he served in various management roles involving the transportation of commercial and high-value products.
