Orlando, Florida - As a successful 2003 wraps up, Atlas Van Lines is hosting its 56th annual convention in Orlando, November 17th through 20th, at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center.
While this event focuses on Atlas' domestic business, Atlas agents from around the globe will be there - with over 800 attendees pre-registered. The theme, The House That Atlas Built, focuses on the strategies Atlas has employed over the years to continually improve and meet the customers' changing needs in a dynamic relocation marketplace.
Florida was not only selected as this year's venue for the Atlas conference, but also topped the list in Atlas's study of migration patterns. In the last decade, Florida emerged as a leader among "incoming" states, with more people moving into than moving out of the state. A complete look at Atlas's study on migration patterns can be found online at http://www.atlasworldgroup.com/migration/.
"Florida is one of the few states that remains consistent in its migration patterns," noted Greg Hoover, Atlas Senior Vice President, Sales Development. "Only seven other states — Nevada, Oregon, Colorado, Montana, North Carolina, Virginia and Vermont, and the District of Columbia — compare to Florida in its decade-long continuous trend of moving more people into the state than out of it."
For people making such moves across the country into these "incoming" states and others, customer satisfaction and the ability to meet customer expectations are each key in the search for a suitable mover, according to Jim Stamm, Atlas President.
"People look to Atlas with an expectation based on need," says Stamm. "But that expectation is also based on their experience with us in the past. When we satisfy their expectation, trust is reinforced. Relationships become stronger. And the well-being of those we serve, as well as our own, is enhanced."
"We are so thrilled to be gathering in the great state of Florida for this year's Atlas Convention," said Michael Shaffer, Atlas Chairman and CEO. "Over the next few days, not only will we highlight the successes of our company in general, but we are also happy to celebrate some of the work of our agents from right here in the Sunshine State."
There will be 282 awards presented to agents from across the country at this year's convention, including World Class Commitment awards for two of Florida's own &mdash Spirit Movers, Inc. of Sarasota and Atlantic Relocation Systems of Tampa.
