Atlas World Group Names Richard Olson Chief Financial Officer

EVANSVILLE (Ind.) Richard (Rick) Olson has been named Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Atlas Van Lines and its holding company, Atlas World Group. He replaces Howard Parker, who retired from the position of Atlas CFO in late March.

In his new position, Olson will oversee all financial aspects of Atlas World Group and its subsidiaries. He most recently served the company as vice president, finance and treasurer.

Olson joined Atlas Van Lines in 1984 as director of internal audit and taxation; he was promoted to treasurer in 1987, and became vice president, finance and treasurer in 1997.

A native of Louisville, Olson received his bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Kentucky, Lexington. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of both the Indiana Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs.

Olson is an active community volunteer, having served Habitat for Humanity for a number of years, including his work as volunteer coordinator for the local Housing Blitz in 1999 and 2000. Olson also has served on the board of Family and Children1s Services, Inc. and worked with the United Caring Shelter.
