Atlas' Bill Travelstead Promoted to STG Vice President, Operations

EVANSVILLE (Ind.) -- Bill Travelstead of Atlas Van Lines has been promoted to the position of Vice President, Operations, for the company's Specialized Transportation Group (STG), headquartered in Evansville, Ind. Travelstead had served as STG Assistant Vice President / Operations since 1992. In his new position, he will oversee the company's corporate dispatch center.

A native of Detroit, Michigan, Travelstead began his career with Atlas Van Lines in 1979 as a dispatcher trainee. Between 1983 and 1992, he held various positions within the company including STG Operations Manager and Director.

Prior to his employment with Atlas Van Lines, Travelstead served as a cost accountant for Arkla Industries in Evansville and in the United States Air Force. He is a member of Rolling Thunder - Kentucky Chapter 1 and the American Legion in Newburgh, Ind.

Atlas Van Lines' Specialized Transportation Group provides transportation of new store fixtures and furniture, tradeshow exhibits, electronics, and other high-value goods such as museum exhibits and fine arts.
