EVANSVILLE, (Ind.) -- Twenty-nine Atlas Van Lines agencies have won the 2001 Milton M. Hill Quality Award, one of the industry's most distinguished performance awards. Milt Hill Award winners achieve the company's most challenging standards in the categories of hauling excellence, quality performance, and warehouse / facility operations.
Customer feedback plays a key role in many of the criteria in the Milt Hill Quality program, and agents must receive Atlas' Hauling Excellence and World Class Commitment awards in order to be eligible for the Milt Hill Award. The World Class Commitment Award is based on 12 strict service criteria that impact customer service such as estimating accuracy, customer satisfaction, and claims experience.
The number of Milt Hill winners this year — 29 — is up from 19 winners last year, and 12 the year before. The growing number of Milt Hill winners is significant because the standards for winning this award have been raised regularly.
"Performance excellence is stressed very highly across the board at Atlas, and every year a large percentage of our agents earn recognition for quality achievements and hauling excellence," states Dave Daniels, Atlas director of quality development. "Attaining honors in all three of the categories outlined in the Milt Hill program represents the pinnacle of Atlas success. Agents who earn the Milt Hill Quality Award stand as the most exceptional examples of performance and customer service in this industry."

The program was developed for Alexander's then instituted throughout the Atlas family of agents.
