Atlas Van Lines' President's Club Rewards Top Sales People

May 1, 1999

Atlas Van Lines, for ten years the fastest-growing company in the moving industry, now rewards its top sales people with a recognition program called the "President's Club." During 1998, individuals from 100 of the corporation's 400-plus U.S. agencies distinguished themselves by earning monthly sales awards; sales people from 19 different agents earned quarterly awards; and there were five year-end winners, one in each of five sales categories. Sales awards are based on total transportation revenues for interstate shipments. The program just completed a second year.

"The success of this program reflects Atlas Van Lines' overall philosophy on quality standards and customer service," states Mike Scavuzzo, Atlas senior vice president of Agency Services and Development. "We don't just ask those things of the people who are on the road moving families. We also ask them of our sales force - and I think their dedication to the way Atlas does business is showing up in their sales successes."

Each month, The President's Club recognizes three top sales people in each of five categories: national accounts, Special Products Division, COD, government, and Atlas Van Lines International. Monthly winners receive a President's Club pen and pencil set. One quarterly winner per category receives a gold President's Club lapel pin. And year-end winners receive a gold President's Club ring. Four of 1998's year-end winners, each of whom won a gold ring for 1997 sales, will have a diamond added to the rings for their '98 ranking. Year-end winners were also invited to attend Atlas' annual sales meeting, held this year in Las Vegas.

The Atlas Van Lines year-end President's Club winners, within the Atlas agencies they represent, were: Denise Della-Dora, national account winner, Alexander's Moving & Storage of Hayward, CA (second-time winner); James Cole, Jr., J.W. Cole & Sons of Detroit, MI (second-time winner); Brian Robinson, COD winner, DMS Moving Systems, Inc. of Canton/Detroit, MI (second-time winner); Steve Delane, government account winner, Alexander's Moving & Storage of Baltimore, MD (second-time winner); and Roger Sorhagen, Atlas Van Lines International winner, Crofutt & Smith Storage Warehouse, Inc. of Landing, NJ.

Now the third-largest household goods carrier in the nation, Atlas Van Lines is also a major special products transporter. Headquartered in Evansville, IN, Atlas has some 600 agents across the U.S. and Canada and more than 800 worldwide.
