Atlas Van Lines Makes Cyberspace Debut; Launches Fun, Consumer-Oriented Web Site for Accessing Information on Variety of Moving Issues

EVANSVILLE, (Ind.) -- Atlas Van Lines announces the launch of its internet Home Page: The Atlas Interchange. The new site gives cyber-visitors tips and information on all aspects of moving. Whether searching for advice on corporate relocation, specialized transportation, or COD moves, the Atlas Van Lines World Wide Web site offers answers to the most commonly asked questions and provides a direct communications link to moving experts.

The new site,, features an entertaining "How-To House" where cybernauts are invited to come in and discover helpful hints on how to make a move as smooth as possible. Once inside the House, visitors can click on colorful icons, guiding them to specific information on everything from how to move plants, to packing a waterbed, and moving a personal computer.

An agent locator map makes it easy to locate Atlas agents, by state, and provides hypertext links to agents with their own Web sites. "Corporate Information This Exit" offers visitors a glimpse of Atlas history, facts about the company, and important information on how to become an Atlas driver. Other Web site points-of-interest include a kids' page, with fun moving-related games, and a news stand to give media access to the most up-to-date information regarding Atlas and its agents, worldwide.

"It's not enough merely to establish a presence on the internet. You have to provide information of value to customers and prospective customers," explains Steve Mumma, senior vice president of marketing and public relations for Atlas Van Lines. "Our goal in developing the site was to invite consumers to a user-friendly, interactive site that provides answers to moving questions."

In the future, the Atlas Home Page will include detailed information on international relocation, corporate relocation and specialized transportation. All visitors to the home page are asked to contact Atlas directly, through e-mail, with any specific questions or comments.
