EVANSVILLE, (Ind.) -- Atlas Van Lines has been named a 1995 Quality Carrier by Distribution, the transportation and business logistics magazine.
The results were based on 3,005 Quest for Quality surveys which contained approximately 24,000 individual carrier evaluations. Atlas was the only household goods carrier to exceed the survey's averages in every category for both levels of ratings. ("Total" ratings came from shippers using the carrier on a regular basis. "Core" ratings applied to carriers with a partnership or an alliance agreement with the shipper.) "The Quest for Quality measures standards of excellence within the transportation field and is the only industrial-wide quality recognition program in transportation," says James Henne, Distribution publisher. "These people know the business, and they know they can depend on Atlas Van Lines."
"This significant recognition is a tribute to all those Atlas professional service providers who all too often go unheralded. We're proud of their outstanding performance, " says Norm Gee, Atlas chairman and CEO.
The survey included 15-plus modes of transportation. Study results appeared in the magazine's August issue in which Atlas Van Lines received recognition for its outstanding achievement.
With its world headquarters in Evansville, Ind., Atlas Van Lines is a transporter of household goods and special products through almost 800 agencies in over 140 countries.
