Moving to Anaheim, CA? Just visiting?

Anaheim is the 10th most populated city in California, and is the second largest city in Orange County. Anaheim has a current population of over 341,000, and attracts 45 million visitors annually. With attractions like Disneyland, Angel Stadium of Anaheim, and the largest convention center on the west coast, it's not a surprise they have so many visitors to the city. Anaheim gets its name from a combination of “Ana” after the nearby Santa Ana River, and “Heim”, the German word for “home”.

Anaheim History

Anaheim was founded in 1857 by fifty German families, but wasn't incorporated as a city until February 10, 1870. Anaheim was the wine capital of California up until the 1880s, when the crops were wiped out. The orange and citrus industry took over then and flourished up until after WWII. The city's population really began to boom with the opening of Disneyland in 1955, the building of Anaheim Stadium in 1966, and, in the following year, the construction of the Anaheim Convention Center. Along with new residents, these attractions also brought many new visitors to the city.
