Some of the earliest known history about the Phoenix area dates back to 700 A.D. when the area known as the Pueblo Grande Ruins were inhabited. There is not much known about the early inhabitants of this area: the society built a thriving community that suddenly disappeared. Hundreds of years later, in the mid 19th century, Phoenix began growing out of the valley soil. By 1881, Phoenix was incorporated into the United States and since then, has been expanding and has developed into one of the most productive cities in America.
