3 things you may have missed before your move [Video]

Mar 16, 2016

Moving is a complicated process with a lot of tiny details that can get lost in the shuffle. But there are three things in particular you don't want to forget before your move. First, make sure you file a change of address on the U.S. Post Office website - that way, you won't miss any important bills or documents.

Next, notify your utility companies of the move, including your providers of gas, electricity, water, cable and Internet. You'll want to either cancel services or transfer them to your new home.

And finally, if you're moving to a new state, check with the DMV to learn how to transfer your vehicle license and registration. Some states offer a partial refund of the money you paid to register your car - and that's something you definitely don't want to miss out on!
