If your company wants you to relocate but is not offering you any reimbursement opportunities, you might still be able to save money. By meeting certain conditions, you may be entitled to a moving expenses tax deduction. To qualify, your new work location must be at least 50 miles farther away from your house than your previous office was.
After you've moved, you must also work full time for an employer near your new job site for at least 39 weeks during the next year.
The third condition is that your moving expenses be incurred within one year from your start date. If you can meet all of these requirements, you may be able to file for a tax deduction.
